In the summer of 2021, the Nevada Office of the Governor and Department of Health and Human Services partnered with Immunize Nevada and IGT Global Solutions Corporation to host Vax Nevada Days. Over the curse of eight weeks, they gave away $5 million in cash and prizes to vaccinated Nevadans to celebrate the power and promise of COVID-19 vaccination.
Every Nevadan 12 and older who had received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine was automatically entered in the weekly prize drawings. Prizes included:
• Nevada fishing license and Nevada state parks annual entrance permits for all those 12 and older
• 529 tuition savings plans for those 12-17 years of age
• For Nevadans 18+, cash prizes from $1,000-$250,000 and a $1 million grand prize
At weekly celebratory events held around the state, the Governor announced the winners and a select audience learned in real time the value of their prize.
